YEP! A pumpkin pie in a cup. A CUP OF HEAVEN! (pun intended)
My friend texted me last Friday after class, asking if I wanted to go “adventure” somewhere. Well, I had two midterms, a quiz, and a project due the following week and could use a little adventure before condemning myself to a weekend locked up in the library with my nose in my Nutri Sci textbook ( while also keeping tabs on the Michigan- Wisconsin game ).
With the cozy fall weather, we thought it would be fun to go somewhere in spirit of the new season. We brainstormed what fun fall place to go to! Should we pick pumpkins at a pumpkin patch? Or maybe munch on some caramel apples at the farmer’s market?
We decided to go to Target!
Next thing we know, we are off on our adventure in the Uber driver’s car! He dropped us off at Target and we quickly gather everything we need, and of course, some unnecessary items that *somehow* ended up our cart. After checking out, we decide to stop by Bowl of Heaven, a place known for their bomb acai bowls, and that is only a minute walk away from Target.
We walk into BOH with the intention of ordering the usual “Dan’s PB Bowl”. Our plans for an acai bowl with peanut butter quickly changes after seeing a sign saying “Pumpkin Delite”. You could say that this was a sign sent from my guardian angel from Heaven. Without a question, we ordered 1 Pumpkin Delite smoothie to split. After a few minutes of blending and waiting, our smoothie was ready. We picked the pumpkin smoothie, took many pics, and DOVE IN. The smoothie was devoured within a few short minutes!
The smoothie had… 100% Pure Pumpkin, Organic Acai, Pumpkin Pie Spices, Bananas, Strawberries, Graham Crackers, Honey, Coconut Sugar, Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, MAQ 7, and Non-Dairy Whipping Cream.
That simple, and that delicious.
Not only delicious, but also HEALTHY- Pumpkin is loaded with potassium, vitamin C, beta-carotene and fiber! Potassium aids in restoring electrolytes, so this is a perfect post-workout snack and the high fiber content will feel full for hours. The pumpkin’s orange color comes from the beta-carotene pigment.
Did you know pumpkins are technically fruits? You body converts this fruit’s beta-carotene to vitamin A, which is necessary for a healthy immune system ( calling all dorm kids who live in a petri dish ), good eye health, and skin.
Next time you’re looking for a fun, fall adventure, look no further than Bowl of Heaven’s blender!
