Do ya know what I really NEED??!
A movie night.
I’m talking full blown movie night with my pink PJ boxers, a coco bun, big ol bowl of popcorn, one too many glasses of rosé, and PIZZA. Lots and LOTS of PIZZA!!
**Bolded, underlined, italicized pizza…
The NYC burnout is real ( read more HERE ) and I’m in dire need of a chill movie night. I’m open to suggestions if you know of any good GNI movies. Preferably a rom-com 😉
In a just over a month, I’ll be in my element as I rock a crop top for game day on Langdon… But heres the issh – I don’t want my movie night pizza to show. Luckily, I have the solution to my comfort food cravings.
CAULIFLOWER. PIZZA.
YES !! CAULIFLOWER !!
Us nutrition freaks are putting cauliflower in everything ( including smoothies ) and we are doing it for a good reason!
Cauliflower..
♡ is rich in ANTIOXIDANTS
♡ fights INFLAMMATION – deets HERE
♡ aids in DIGESTION
♡ help BALANCE hormones
♡ is high in FIBER
See why this is allowed on my pre-gameday diet?!
Compared to the alternative ( ie. regular crust pizza ), a slice of cauli pizza has less crop top busting calories! One slice ( 1/6 of a pizza ) has only 80 calories, 220 mg sodium, and 0 grams of fat.
I’m NOT saying that this tastes “exactly” like regular pizza b/c let’s be honest, its a cauliflower crust! However, I do find that it satisfies my craving for a PHAT slice of New York pizza and I don’t feel heavy after a few slices. 🙊
My top tip for making a healthier pizza ( next to swapping the regular crust for cauliflower crust ) is to buy JUST the crust. If you buy pre-prepared pizza, you don’t know all the ingredients and their quantities going on the pizza. If you dress up your own pizza, you can manipulate the amount of cheese and customize the pizza!
Red chili flake, mozzarella, and ground turkey??
YES PLS… !!
Will I top it with Frank’s Red Hot when it comes out of the oven…
Probably.
Recipe:
3/4 cup Rao’s Marinara Sauce
4 slices Part Skim Mozzarella
Red Chili Flake
Cauliflower pizza crust
Optional : ground turkey
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place tinfoil on a baking sheet and bake the cauliflower crust for 10-12 minutes, turn over, and bake for another 10-12 minutes. Add Rao’s sauce and mozzarella and broil for 4-5 minutes, or until browned.
**My tip for flipping the crust is to place another sheet of tinfoil on top of the crust then a large plate. Flip the entire crust, so the crust is on the plate. Slide the flipped crust on the plate to the baking sheet.
I HOPE YOU ENOY YOUR GNI!!
